Paris, March 2026 — Paris Saint‑Germain delivered a dominant performance to defeat Chelsea F.C. 5–2 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match at Parc des Princes on Wednesday night. The French champions produced a late attacking surge that left Chelsea with a difficult task ahead of the return leg in London.
PSG started strongly and opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Bradley Barcola finished a quick attacking move to put the home side ahead. Chelsea responded positively and equalized in the 28th minute through defender Malo Gusto, who converted after a well-worked attack.

Substitute star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then sealed the victory with two late goals, scoring in the 86th minute and again in stoppage time to complete a convincing 5–2 win for the French champions.
Chelsea had managed to equalize twice during the match, but defensive lapses and late pressure from PSG proved decisive. Manager Liam Rosenior later admitted the late goals were particularly painful for his team and highlighted the need for improvement before the second leg.
